Montessori School of Rome’s 6th graders were invited to the 13th annual luncheon celebrating Georgia Leadership Day. The speakers included Commissioner of Community Affairs, Gretchen Corbin, First Lady of Georgia, Mrs. Sandra Deal, and Governor of Georgia, Nathan Deal. Our very own Savannah Corbin had the privilege of introducing the First Lady of Georgia, Mrs. Sandra Deal.
After the luncheon, the students went to the state capitol. They got a personal tour by the Commissioner of Community Affairs, Gretchen Corbin. They met the Lieutenant Governor, Casey Cagle, as well as our local Senator, Chuck Hufstetler. The Lieutenant Governor even took time away from the session to come introduce himself and welcome the children to the Capitol.
The students were able to see where they will be paging during the last day of this session. They are very excited.
The Montessori School of Rome serves students from 18 months through 6th grade, in a toddler program (18 months – 3 years), a primary program (3-6 years/kindergarten), a lower elementary program (1st – 3rd grade), and an upper elementary program (4th – 6th grade).
We are a private school emphasizing—as do all Montessori schools—peace and tolerance, and admit students without regard to race, religion, or creed.
We believe that children learn best when we teach every facet of a child’s development: cognitive, physical, social and emotional. A whole child education.
