Anja Dhinagaran obtained her Master of Science in Biology at the University of Leipzig, Germany. During her final thesis, she worked with the Institute of Animal Ecology and Nature Education near Frankfurt on the thermoregulation of female and male bats. After graduation, she worked as an animal ecologist for several years and later switched to researching the sustainability of consumer products in Berlin, Germany.

Anja loves nature and has been homeschooling her son, utilizing many aspects of the Montessori Philosophy, emphasizing nature appreciation and wonder for Earth’s beauty. During COVID, she started writing children’s books about animals and plants, which she and her family explored while living in West Virginia. Her first nature education book is currently being illustrated by a Ukrainian artist and will be published this year.

Anja and her husband Theodore moved to the US a few years ago and have enjoyed living in a few different states. They are excited to put down roots in Rome, GA. Their son Sam is a Lower Elementary student at MSOR.
