Admissions

Thank you for your interest in the Montessori School of Rome. Because we feel we offer a program unique to this area, we want to ensure that applicants and their families have a complete understanding of all that our school has to offer.  Our application process involves several steps to help make sure that you are well informed about our programs and so that we can best determine how to help you meet your goals for your child.

1. Tour and review of our programs –

This first step gives us a chance to tell you about the Montessori Philosophy of Education and to show you our school.  We encourage you to schedule a tour in the morning time so that you see the children in the classroom.  Tours are usually scheduled Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday mornings, although other arrangements can be made if necessary.

2. Application and meeting with Shemi Kumar, Head of School –

If after the tour you decide that you are interested in our program, we ask that you complete and submit an application (with the application fee of $150.00).  The application and meeting allow us to find out about your child and family, to discuss your goals for your child, and to determine how our school and staff can best help you meet your goals.

3. Student interview –

We ask that the student come in for a visit and observation.  For the toddler or primary aged child, this helps us as we determine which class might be the best match for your child and which skills we will help your child with first.  For the elementary aged child, this visit helps us assess your child’s academic level.

Unfortunately, our school is not as large as we wish it were and we cannot always accommodate all the students and families interested in our programs.  If there is not a space in the program for which you are interested, you will be offered a spot on the waiting list.  As you can imagine, we cannot always predict how long you might be on a waiting list, but will do our best to keep you informed.  If you accept a place on the list but choose later to rescind that place, a portion ($100.00) of your application fee is refundable.

If you have any questions about the school or the application process, please do not hesitate to call us!
